Maturation

Photography, a second nature.

I have always loved to observe.

As a journalist, reporter, and then filmmaker, I worked for a long time using the image as a language. Constructing a frame, composing a shot, choosing what enters the frame and what remains off-screen: long before I dedicated myself to photography, I had learned how to look.

Then I left Paris.

I settled in a hilltop village on the French Riviera. The proximity of the sea, the terrain, and an omnipresent light gradually transformed and sharpened my vision.

The revelation

That is where photography took on a different role.

No longer just that of an image, but that of an experience.

For me, every photographic session is a moment suspended in time.

A moment of escape during which I make myself entirely available to the landscape.

Walking, waiting, observing. Watching the light move, the colors evolve, a shadow alter a relief, or a reflection appear for a few moments before disappearing.

The expression

Photography is born from this encounter.

Composition remains essential to my work, because it allows me to give form to what appears.

I seek less to document a place than to convey what it made me feel.

Each photograph thus becomes the result of an encounter between a landscape, the light, and an inner state.

Feelings change the way we see.
